Destroyed Russian Column in Kherson, via Telegram

One of the most complicated military maneuvers is withdrawal under fire. The Russian Federation is telling us that all personnel and equipment was withdrawn. This is for internal consumption.

Earlier in the day, I speculated these losses could be as high as 30,000 troops. That was a high number, implying the full military group, for all intents, was caught by Ukraine.

So now we have data, again through Volymedia:

Nothing is yet known about the casualties during the crossing and the night shelling. According to those who were at the crossings around Kherson, in the city itself, near Berislav and the Kakhov dam, the losses are significant, but no one has counted them. Information from retreated units will not be available until the evening of November 11 or the afternoon of November 12.

Reports of “military cops” that 20 thousand people and 3.5 thousand pieces of equipment have been withdrawn during the last three days may be true, if one reads them correctly. The grouping on the right bank amounted to 32 thousand soldiers and officers as of November 9. If 20 were withdrawn in three days, then, minus the losses, 2–4 thousand motorized riflemen and Russian guards in Kherson and up to another 4–5 thousand motorized riflemen and paratroopers in Berislav and around it remain on the right bank.
